There are some small art museums in old villas scattered all around the city center. The art collections are nice, but the inside of the houses is even more impressive. On the list could be: Theodor Aman museum (recently renovated and across the National Art Museum), Zambaccian museum, Storck museum, Theodor Pallady Museum and the George Enescu National Museum (not an art museum, but the building is impressive).

Hello Sara, so as a born and raised fellow in Bucharest and as a airbnb superhost 🤘🏿😎, I guess I could give you some quick tips.
For start, if you want to visit one of the biggest comunist remains( the “House of the People”) I advice you not to make an apointment and pay a greater fee to see a empty huge building, but to go on the left side at the MNAC museum. There you will pay a really modest fee, you will visit the exhibition in progress&drink nice coffeeeco
