I don't love it, but it's interesting. Monumental in design, the island was left unfinished when the revolution came in 1989. It was supposed to be one of Bucharest's main recreational sites. Now, the walk there is quite pleasant with the lake on one side and the many-coloured yet bleak blocks of flats on the other side.
