Bran Castle needs little introduction. Also known as Dracula’s Castle because of the similarity between Bram Stoker’s bloodthirsty vampire and Vlad the Impaler (one of Romania's cruellest rulers who spent several months at Bran), it was initially built as a fortress and, centuries later, became Queen Mary's favourite residence.
After exploring Bran Castle, we’ll enjoy the magic of Piatra Craiului National Park. Our journey will continue with a moderate hike through Zarnesti Gorge and then to Curmătura hut (1470 metres), in the heart of the Piatra Craiului Mountains. Get ready for some beautiful views with meadows, forests, and stunning mountain views.
We'll stop for a quick lunch break at Curmatura and then we will hike back to the car on a different trail.
We’ll return to Bucharest later in the evening.
