Description

The first stop on our tour is the Cernica Monastery just outside Bucharest. The beautiful interior frescoes of this Romanian Orthodox establishment are certainly worth seeing. According to local legend, the mystical dragon depicted in the frescoes lives in the lake that surrounds the monastery.

Next, we’ll visit the Mogoșoaia Palace – a former royal residence constructed in a traditional Romanian architectural style – and the Iulia Haşdeu Castle, which was built by a grieving father according to instructions provided by his deceased daughter during spiritual séances.

We’ll also visit the Snagov Monastery, the burial place of Vlad the Impaler – the Wallachian prince who inspired Bram Stoker’s famous Dracula novel, and numerous legends.
