Walk in the footsteps of the bloodthirsty Vlad the Impaler in the Royal Court of Târgoviște – the former capital of the Wallachia kingdom. The Court is overlooked by the 27-metre-high Chindia Tower, from which the Prince would often observe the executions below. Legend has it that’s there’s a place right next to the Royal Court called the Forest of the Impaled.
The fascinating thread of medieval legends continues with a visit to Bran Castle, also knows as Dracula’s Castle – an awe-inspiring fortress that towers above the main road to Transylvania. Not far off is Râșnov Fortress, offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.
