The day begins in Bucharest with a road trip to our first destination, Sinaia, a small resort town in the Carpathian Mountains. In order to get there, we’ll pass through the scenic Prahova Valley – Romania’s key destination for winter sports lovers.
The first stop on the tour is the splendid Peleș Castle, which was built by the first king of Romania, Carol I of Hohenzollern, in the 19th century. It served as the summer residence for the Romanian royal family for several years.
We’ll then visit one of the most famous castles in the world, Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle. Dating back to the 13th century, it was built on top of an older wooden castle by the Saxons of Transylvania.
Afterwards, we’ll continue on to the city of Brașov, which is a popular Romanian tourist destination. It was founded by Teutonic Knights in 1211 and exudes a distinct medieval ambiance. Walking through the Council Square, we’ll reach the Old Town Hall in the heart of the city.
