According to local legend, the most beautiful Romanian monastery ever built was constructed on the banks of the Argeș River. The secret to its construction was, quite literally, human sacrifice. After admiring this very monastery, we’ll reach a spectacular road crossing in the Carpathian Mountains. At the peak of an isolated 850-metre-high cliff, we’ll explore the Poenari Fortress built by prisoners of Vlad the Impaler – none other than the cruel Prince who inspired the Dracula legends. We’ll also enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Vidraru from the 166-metre high dam.
On our way back to Bucharest we’ll indulge in some sweet treats at the Topoloveni jam and preserves factory – a highly valued Romanian brand manufactures 100% natural products.
