The Village Museum open air museum was really good and my guide was very knowledgeable. The timing was good as my tour beat the rush. It was busier at the end. The wine tasting was also really good. I sampled a few different wines with traditional snacks. Again my guide was bvery knowledgeable about the wines and the region that they came from. When the tasting was over, I asked my guide if he could drop me off at the nearby History Museum, which he did.

Description

Stop 1: The National Village Museum
An open-air reconstruction of a traditional Romanian village.

For many Romanians, entering the National Village Museum is like going back to the days of childhood spent in the countryside. For everyone else, this is the perfect place to discover an authentic Romanian village, with folklore elements and buildings originating from all historical provinces.

Admire steep-roofed peasant homes, thatched barns, log cabins, watermills, churches, oil presses, road crucifixes, and more.

Stop 2: Wine tasting
Enjoy traditional Romanian wines, cheese, and dry sausages.

Romania is the world’s 13th-largest wine producer, with over 2000 years of winemaking history. Thus, the next stop is at Bucharest’s first wine bar, located in a century-old manor. The traditional architecture, elegant interior, and wine bottles displayed like books on shelves create a perfect setting for wine tasting.

Whether you’re a casual wine drinker or a true connoisseur, you’ll enjoy yourself as you discover the distinctive terroir of famous Romanian vineyards. You’ll get to taste a selection of local wines, traditional cheese, and dry sausages.
