Transfagarasan Scenic Road 1 day Tour

The meeting point will be at your hotel in Bucharest. We will start this full day tour with a visit of Curtea de Arges Monastery, one of the most beautiful churches in Romania, with a strange legend. Next we will visit Poienari fortress, the ruins of count Dracula’s real castle. To visit this fortress you must climb 1400 stairs through the forest, but the view from up there is beautiful! Our next stop will be at the Vidraru dam after a climbing twisted road, the beginning of Transfagarasan.

The most beautiful road in the world, Transfagarasan, starts smoothly through the forest, but then ascends sharply to the sky for a spectacular view. At the top of it, in the clouds, a green glacier lake was formed, Balea lake. Next to it, an old chalet, Balea lac chalet, waits to offer lunch to those who stop there. We will be their guests, too.

After arriving in Bucharest we will drop you off at your hotel or another chosen location.
