Óbuda is a district (3rd) of Budapest on the Buda side. Of course it is on Buda side and from the Batthanyi tér or from the Margaret Bridge (Buda side) you can take the HÉV (kind of local train) to go first to the Fő tér (main square). Take the stop so called Szentlélek tér. You can find there a city hall, a baroque Zichy Castle from 1750, and Óbuda Museum. Nice to visit the Kassák museum as well. After the museums and the old buildings from the 1700 years you canhavea break at Kobuci Kert (Garden), and have a beer or anyother drink. Link:http://kobuci.hu/en/
If you are lucky, you can find goodconcerts as well. :)
At Kollosy square you can find a nice food city market. From Kolossy square you can go up to the hill with bus and visit the Pálvölgyi Cave. The dripstone-rich cave, the longest one in the Buda Hills and the third longest in the country, is a highly protected natural preservation area since 1944. It is not Óbuda anymore, but a really recommended tour.
In Óbuda you can find also the Római Part, which is a walking area just next to the Danube. It is one of the favourite part of the local people from Budapest. You can walk along the riverside and have Fröccs (wine with soda) or Beer and eat Hekk (backed fisch) or Lángos (traditional hungarian food). Really nice place to chill.
You can go there from Szentlélek té by bus, or with the HÉV.
If you interesting in romain ruins, must to visit Aquincum at Szentendrei road.
