Highlights

  • Taste special Hungarian chocolates and teas
  • Learn about the chocolate-making process
  • Try your hand at making your own!

Description

As you stroll past a display of shop windows from the previous century, your guide will share interesting stories about chocolate. You’ll then get to taste special chocolate from Café Gerbeaud, the most famous coffee shop in Budapest.

Next, your guide will show you the museum's collection of Rákóczi paintings and treat you to some more Hungarian chocolate.

After visiting the cellars to try Pálinka, a Hungarian fruit brandy (don’t worry, children under 18 will be given chocolate samples instead!), you’ll have the chance to make your own flavoured chocolate. Sip a cup of hot chocolate and watch a short film about the chocolate-making process while you wait for your creation to set.

Finally, you’ll be guided to a candlelit room where you can taste a variety of special teas and enjoy a cup of the museum’s special blend. At the end of the tour each guest will receive a chocolate gift pack to take home.

Amazing
Amazing, friendly staff, went our their way to ensure we had the best day, Lots of chocolate
Fun
Andrea was a well-informed, kind and engaging guide. And she kept bringing us chocolate! We went in a small group and it was a delightful way to see the museum and find out about the history of chocolate in Budapest. It was well worth the jaunt out of the city center. It was more fun than either I or my daughter imagined.
