Imagine yourself at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. When scholars told you that everything has been invented. Every poem written. Every song composed. This is the challenge for the inventive, the brave, the daring minds.
We will be a part of their triumphant journey for a few hours. Without them, Hungary wouldn't have the amazing musicians it has today. Groundbreakers, pioneers - call them what you like, they were all extraordinary artists.
Walking around the historical center of Budapest, we will see those important places, houses where many of our famous Hungarian musicians such as Franz Liszt, Leopold Auer, Béla Bartók, Zoltán Kodály or György Ligeti worked and lived, where they met people like Wagner, Debussy or Mahler. With this we are going to get a clearer picture of classical music of Budapest from the late 19th and early 20th century - and its place in the world's music history.
Taking time travel seriously, we will even visit an old café where many of these artists used to meet after teaching, concert or just for a lunch.
