Hungary is one of very few countries where folk dancing is considered highly artistic. It’s no coincidence that there’s a college dedicated exclusively to the study of Hungarian folk dance.
The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble, the Danube Folk Ensemble and the Hungaria Folk Ensemble and Orchestra are three of the best professional Hungarian folk ensembles, having existed since 1951, 1957 and 1952 respectively.
The dances give viewers a broad insight into Hungarian music, dance and costume heritage, covering traditions of former parts of Hungary as well.
Please arrive at the meeting point, Danube Palace (Zrínyi utca 5), 30 minutes before the performance.
Note that we have two meeting points: Danube Palace (Zrínyi Street 5, 1051) and Budai Vigadó (Corvin Square 8, 1011 only on the 4th of September and 2nd of October))
