Hi!
As always in any big city, it depends on where and when. Buenos Aires is historically considered a safe city to walk around at any time, but I recommend to avoid bad illuminated or empty streets at night. People are friendly and you can always ask, there are many tourists and groups and you can always join any. Is always better to move in groups until you begin to know where you are. During the day it is almost perfectly safe. You only have to avoid private taxis, take company ones. Enjoy your stay! Is a beautifull city!

Generally speaking yes, but it depends on the time of the day and the area of Buenos Aires.
During the day you can walk around the city center and most of the neighborhoods (Palermo, Recoleta) without problem. Always taking good care of your cellphone.
During the night better to avoid downtown and lonely streets.
But since it will be summer you will find a lot of people on the streets in the cool parts of town outside bars and restaurants.
Enjoy!

Hi Jigna!

You can walk freely during the day.
By late night, be very careful. I would recommend take taxis if it is very late.
Don't walk through a group of boys that look badly.
It's the same kind of safety you need to take into account in any other big city like London or Paris.
Don't go to suburbs and if you want to, go with a local.
Don't engage in casual conversations in the streets as what time is it or so, they may want to steal you something.
Avoid weird situations. And situations like kindness when you are not asking for that, like someone wants to helps you with your luggage.
Other than those precautions, it is ok to walk and enjoy the city. Just be careful as every tourist should be!
Don't walk with an expensive camera hanging in your neck. Don't walk with your Mobil in your back trousers pocket... things like that.
And enjoy the city!!! It's full of amazing and nice people. They are very kind and open. Wish you the best!

Hi, yes, it will be summer, and people usually stay later and you're going to find a lot of people at 2am or 7 am. I'm talking bout Capital Federal I do not know which neighborhood are you going to be, probably the touristic area that is big.

Dear Jigna, walking around in Buenos Aires is a safe thing to do, like any other city in the world there are some areas you must avoid, but if you are staying in the downtown area and going to the nice neighborhoods of the city you will find it pretty safe.

Yes. As in every great city you should take care about your belongins & not go around with a rolex or tag, but yes BA if you go for a ride in the main neighborhoods of BA during the day or night there is no problem at all.

Hi Jigna, this question has a broad answer. Short version is: Yes, you can walk safely.
Long version: you need to be aware of pick pockets that live out of tourists, we are not proud of this but I guess is not different from many big cities in the world. Besides that, there are some neighborhoods that are not dangerous but which are more prone to thefts and pick pocketing such as La Boca and other neighborhoods that have seen some spike on sudden bag/backpack stealing because of the number of open air restaurants in the area which makes them good target.
Again, you can walk around safely just watch yourself of not exposing expensive equipment or leave bags unattended. People is always nice and friendly. More and more of those know English so you can even ask around directions and recommendations.

Hi there Jigna, it's very safe. As every big city, you should look after your belongings, and be aware of pick pocketing. Then, for instance, downtown gets empty at night. So, if you wanna go out in the night, it's a good idea staying at a more residential neighbourhood. I hope this helps!

During day time there won,t be problems. As in everywhere you have to be alert, but shouldn't have problems.

Please try to avoid night walks, in particular if you are by yourself.

Hi Jigna,

During the day if you stay in the central area where most turists are it shoulf be fine. Be always aware of your surroundings and belongings and avoid flashing fancy stuff around. At night, I'd recommend taking a cab and avoid unlight streets. This is merely precaution, you'll be fine and love it over there!! Enjoy your trip
