Its name does not only echo a popular fast-food chain. It's a proper statement. MeC stands for Malloreddus & Culurgionis, epitome of Sardinian culinary tradition. Puddu is Sardinian for chicken, and also a rather common family name. MecPuddu borrows the core idea of fast food and re-invents it, investing locally. And Sardinians love it.
Genuinely traditional food at a cheap price. Mec Puddu's is different because it is a fast-food restaurant at the core, but serves only fresh and healthy food produced and treated in local farms. Century-old traditions are not that incompatible with modern eating habits after all - and this brilliant idea proves it.
My personal recommendation is Pane Frattau, Sardinian flat bread with bolognese sauce, pecorino cheese and egg served in an earthenware bowl.
