Spooky trails among cracked tomb stones, palm trees and stunning white statues. The cemetery of Bonaria is a portal to a segregated land where time has stopped centuries ago. A sanctuary of meditation, treasuring thousands of stories that have made the history of the island. Shelter here from the hustle and bustle running just outside its walls.

While Cagliari offers many resources to narrate its history to its most inquisitive visitors, the cemetery of Bonaria has it all in one place. Its sculptures, commissioned by Sardinian aristocracy and bourgeoisie, witness the individual stories of thousands of Sardinians, as well as the development of art in Sardinia throughout the last centuries.
Ask for a guided tour at the information desk. You’ll get to know more about each statue. Also, the upper side is an excellent panoramic viewpoint.
