Although only completed a few years ago, the Peace Bridge designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava has quickly become a sleek new city icon. It The bridge crosses the Bow River heading north out of downtown and forms part of Calgary’s extensive river pathway system.
Its innovative design featuring a glass roof, no piers in the water, and wide segregated lanes for both cyclists and pedestrians. It's been as one of the world’s top public spaces and looks striking against the backdrop of the river and downtown.
The best photography spot is on the pathway along the river at the north end of the bridge. Hop on a bench for the best perspective.
