Why locals love it

These elevated walkways allow Calgarians to walk around downtown in weather-protected comfort any time of year. The mezzanine levels of the connected buildings are packed with cafes, shops, public art pieces and essential downtown services like shoe-shine stands.

Why you should visit it

If the streets of downtown Calgary look a little empty, look up, 15 feet up, and you’ll notice enclosed glass walkways connecting many of the office towers and shopping centres. There are over 16 kms of pathways, making it the largest pathway network in North America.

Special tip

Waydowntown is an indie film about office workers competing to see who can survive the longest without leaving the skywalks.

Wow! I had no idea! I was board, because I'm always broke these days and was looking for something fun to do for free or that wouldn't break the bank and low and behold not only did I find what I was looking for this information has given me an idea on how to educate myself in a way that I can make some extra money, help me get back into shape and to boot I can do it all for FREE! Who knows it might end up being my new career!!! 😍 I will be updating my progress as I make achievements! "WHOOT! WHOOT!"
