From late June through late August, one of the city’s largest theatre companies stages free Shakespeare productions in a beautiful park setting. The performances are always well received and best enjoyed with a picnic blanket and your beverage of choice.
Why you should visit it
The plays feature recent theatre grads who are expertly coached and trained by local stage veterans. Theatre-goers spread out on the grass with blankets or festival chairs and sometimes picnic meals.
Special tip
Performances are technically free, but donation boxes are circulated. Pay what you feel the show was worth - you'll be supporting new artists.
