Second Waterfall Jonkershoek Hike

Why locals love it

This hike, although popular can be very quiet and peaceful. The trail is well walked but you can still sit on rock and bask in the sun undisturbed with the sound of a waterfall in the distance. The walk can be completed as a family.

Why you should visit it

In the winter the trail is really beautiful and green. It gives you a taste of our stunning untouched mountains near Stellenbosch. Waterfalls are always something special to behold so this is why I suggest visiting this during your stay.

Special tip

Wear layers, take sunblock, snacks and water. Have your bathing suit if you dare to swim in the freezing waterfall pools.

It is a relatively easy hike to get to the second waterfall. The water is absolutely refreshing. This is also a great spot to just enjoy nature

AMAZING! Not too hard but great views. Combine with a wine tasting at Stark Condé (on the road from Stellenbosch to Jonkershoek)

Beautiful hike in pristine fynbos area outside of Stellenbosch in the Winelands. Start early, take enough water, sunscreen and hat. You will not regret it.
