Why locals love it
It's a quiet bar in North Center with fantastic beer. They serve everything from a simple pale ale to experimental one-time brews. No TVs, no food, but you can bring in your own if you want. You can come and taste what they have and go to one of a few restaurants nearby, or do the opposite.
Why you should visit it
It's the best brewery tour you can find. Once a week: 11am every Saturday, they give a full showing. It's limited so plan to be in line. 2hr tour that goes into everything: brewing, ingredients, buying, building, and the business itself. Other tours may show you what they do. Half Acre will tell you how to do it yourself. 3-4 full pint samples too.
Special tip
For tours, show up by 10am Sat. and get in line. Take public transit, don't drive. It's close to the Montrose, Damen, and Western Brown Line stops.
