Lottie's Pub

Why locals love it

There are two bars most people who immigrate to Chicago Love... Monks.. (and we've written of Monk's) and Lottie's. It is so local! So local and what better validation than getting featured in TV's Chicago Fire. Okay so it's gotten bit touristy since then, however it still retains the same character it boasts of since the 1920's. I'll tell you more

Why you should visit it

Lottie was a transvestite. This info is 2nd-hand from a tour, Drinks W Locals & Travelers by Marco of LikeALocalGuide. Lottie held underground/bar activities & eventually got busted for. The bar closed down in 66' and Lottie was long gone. They reopened in 2000's and say her ghost looms the scene happy that customers still have a good time.

Special tip

Local, TV Famous, Got a ghost - 3 reasons you should go. And doing this bar in one of the drinking tours is a good way to visit. A pretty simple bar
