Hi Fran,

Depending on where you will be in the city, you have quite a few options. Please give me a neighborhood and I’ll recommend a few spots.

Sawada Coffee in the West Loop is a cool place where I see people working all the time. It’s located inside of Green Street Meats.

I would check out Ipsento in Bucktown (less than half a mile from the Blue Line’s Damen stop). They have great wi-fi, excellent coffee and drinks and a solid group of people flowing in and out. It’s full of laptops so network away!
Also, it’s rigt of the 606 trail so take an awesome walk when your done or grab a bite to eat at Irazu down the block (cash only).

In Hyde Park, my favorite coffee shop is called Plein Air. You’ll see lots of students at all levels of education, professors, recruiters hang out there. The outside benches are great during the summer!

Hi Kari! I want to discover and walk around different neighborhoods I have never been while working. So, any neighborhood (lake view, logan square, hyde park, loop, etc.) Thanks in advance!

In Logan Square, the most relaxed coffee shop is New Wave. I also second Ipsento in Bucktown, as someone mentioned.

Stumptown just opened at the ACE hotel in the West Loop. You can take your coffee to the hotel lobby as well. Great location for networking as well. SoHo house has free wifi and decent coffee and tea + lots of networking opportunities. The first & 2nd floor are accessible to all, not just members.
Or try the Virgin Hotel's bar in the Loop.
