You'll have the address in mind, but it may take a minute to spot the door, as there is no sign and the entire front of the Violet Hour is covered in graffiti. Look for a single light bulb and folks searching in earnest for the entry way. Once inside, you'll find a candle lit bar, deep chairs to sink into, and an amazing line up of drinks.
Why you should visit it
This bar is the epitome of dark and stormy. It's great for quiet conversations while you and a date get tipsy. Every drink on the menu is worth the price (typically $12), but you can't go wrong with the Lazarus Reviver (stellar gin drink).

Don't be afraid to try a drink with egg whites!
