Deer Park
Dyrehaven20
Why locals love it
This immense and beautifully wild park just north of Copenhagen has been attracting city dwellers with its roaming deer and protected forests for centuries now. Visitors can also take a tour of The Hermitage (Eremitageslottet), the former king's baroque hunting lodge.

Why you should visit it
On the southern edge of the park you'll find 400 year-old Bakken, the oldest existing amusement park in the world. Combined with a trip to nearby Bellevue with its long sandy beach, this area makes a great day out for all the family.
Special tip
If your feeling lazy or even just a bit regal, you'll find horse-drawn carriages for hire at the main entrance.
