Originally designed as the private gardens of Rosenborg Castle, Kongens Have is the oldest and busiest park in Copenhagen. With rose gardens, fountains and sculptures, it is an atmospheric oasis that is always heaving with a sea of humanity in summer.

Why you should visit it
The park is a perfect picnic spot, and with a combination of grassy open spaces and intimate corners, it will suit both cuddling couples and fantasy footballers. Temporary art exhibitions and concerts are held here throughout the summer, including Copenhagen Jazz festival.
