Description

After meeting at Copenhagen Central Station, we’ll venture into what used to be the city’s roughest neighbourhood. Wandering the streets today, you’ll see firsthand how gentrification can change a place.

First off, we’ll visit one of the few original bars still standing. As we make our way up Istedgade, you’ll hear stories about the Vesterbro of yesteryear. Our next stop will be a modern version of the classic Danish bodega. We’ll then explore the backstreets on our way to Sønder Boulevard, where we’ll do as the locals do and enjoy a drink at a popular meeting point.

We’ll then head to the old Meatpacking District. There are still butchers and other shops that supply the city’s restaurants, but nowadays they live next to stylish eateries, bars and galleries.

Our final stop will be one of the newest additions to Copenhagen’s bar scene. You’re welcome to stay as long as you like, or if you feel like exploring further we’ll be happy to share some dinner recommendations – there are many excellent options just around the corner.

Great, casual tour

Awesome tour with a lot of interesting facts!
Our guide Mie from Urban Adventures made a great job! We enjoyed the tour a lot and learned amazing facts about the neighborhood as well as Copenhagen itself. The 3 hours just flew by and the beer we tasted was really good. I can really recommend this tour. It's a lot of fun!
New Beers and Friends!
Amazing tour! Jam was a great tour guide! Loved his fun facts about the neighborhood, beers, and Copenhagen in general. He did a great job of bringing the group together and showing us a great, local-feeling time. I highly recommend this!

Such a wonderful peek into what makes Copenhagen so wonderful
We took our first trip to Denmark recently and stayed in Copenhagen for about a week. Before leaving we found the Hygge and Happiness tour that looked like a lot of fun and a good way to learn about the culture and how people really live in Copenhagen.

Our guide to all things Hygge was Sandra. What an amazing person! Full of energy and enthusiasm and you could tell she truly cares about helping others to understand what an amazing place Copenhagen is.

The tour was wonderful as well. It takes you through some big tourist locations, but many many more smaller locations that you likewise wouldn’t find on your own. Even at the more touristy locations, Sandra provided a wealth of knowledge and much better history than you would likely find on your own. The tour also includes two pretty wonderful stops at a bakery and finally a kaffe shop. The food is amazing and the lattes are wonderful.

I highly recommend this tour (and Sandra!). If you want to learn about what makes Copenhagen such a happy place and find some of the hidden gems of the city, you should absolutely take this tour!
A must in Copenhagen
We were so happy that we booked this tour. Søren, our tour guide, was fantastic! He was so knowledgeable and attentive to all our needs. My 85 year old mother had a great time and was able to keep up with the tour (fortunately, she's in great shape). Søren made sure that we had plenty of opportunities to duck into a little hyggefied cafe to sip on some delicious coffee and eat some amazing danishes. We learned so much about the Danish lifestyle and history and had a great time. Thanks again for a great tour, Søren!

The perfect city tour
My wife and I had an outstanding time on our tour of Copenhagen with Mie. It was a perfect balance of learning about Danish culture and enjoying the city alongside a hospitable local. If you want to experience Copenhagen, but you don't want to be that tourist who just checks all the boxes of obvious touristy things to do, this is for you.
