Rosenborg is without doubt both Copenhagen's loveliest and most well-preserved castle. Built as a summer house for the iconic king Christian 4th, it now hosts an impressive collection of original furniture and paintings from the 17th, 18th and 19th century.
During the tour I will take you inside the castle, where you can explore the beautifully decorated rooms and listen to stories of kings and queens, of power, bravely, lust and love.
You will learn about the scandalous love story that changed the country, about the quirks of Christian the 4th and the princess who spent more than 20 years in prison.
You will get to see the weirdest collective items of Danish kings and marvel at the gorgeous crown jewels, some of which are still used by the queen to this day.
The tour can be combined with my walking tour around Copenhagen, or it can be expanded to include a trip to Torvehallerne or a visit to the royal reception rooms at Christiansborg Palace for an additional price. If you wish to expand the tour, ask me for details.
