Yet another reason to visit the Source Market. These caffeinated transplants from Boulder take their trade very seriously; only the finest beans are roasted in small batches at the back of the café and brewed using a special apparatus, dubbed the 'Boilermakr'. Prices here prove this isn't your average cup o' joe, but it's well worth the extra cost.
All Colorado coffeeshops face a riddle: at high altitude water boils at a lower temperature which makes it difficult to extract the full flavor of beans. The 'cowboy coffee' method of placing grounds directly in boiling water is one historic solution. From this inspiration, Boxcar optimized the method to produce a strong, but never burnt, brew.
This location's context, the Source Market, is awesome, but so is the nearby Refeul café which hosts another Boxcar bar.
