Cheesman Park

Why locals love it

Cheesman Park was designed in 1910 to occupy the site of a graveyard from 1858. Thousands of victims of brutal crimes and accidents were buried here. When the city began removing the bodies to make way for the new park, nearby residents began to complain about ghostly moans and wandering spirits.

Why you should visit it

So many supernatural sitings were reported that the city had to halt the removal of corpses. Thus, some two to three thousand unidentified dead still rest just under the turf of the park. Not only is Cheesman a pleasant place for a picnic, it's also been long counted among America's most haunted places.
