Luckily for Denver's music lovers, the city has become an anchor in the tour route of many major groups. Less fortunately, the area's two largest indoor venues (the Pepsi and First Bank Centers) are better suited for sporting events than concerts. The Fillmore, big enough to host big bands yet still full of character, is our saving grace.
Once a roller-rink, then a farmers' market and now a concert venue, the Fillmore' vast hardwood floor is uncluttered by any fixed seating and ideal for dancing. The massive purple chandeliers which illuminate the space also lend the theater a sumptuous ambiance.
Check out the nearby Tom's Diner for some post-show comfort food. Chili cheese fries are always a good way to replenish calories lost by dancing.
