Why locals love it
Denver and Colorado at large are home to a sizeable and growing Latino population; the territory was once a part of Mexico after all. Sadly, this culture is underrepresented by most of the city's museums. Museo De Las Americas makes an admirable attempt to correct this imbalance.
Why you should visit it
Exhibits and programs engage the community with the diversity of Latino Americano art and culture from ancient times through to the present. Much of the work on display is aesthetically rich and quite different from most of the works in the other, anglo-centric Denver museums.
Open late, until 9pm, for the artwalk the first Friday of every month. Spanish Happy Hour every third Friday.
