This remarkable piece of Victorian era engineering sat unloved, forgotten and rusting by the riverside until its recent restoration. It now sits resplendent on a newly raised plinth allowing visitors to see inside the diving bell where workers would have worked below water level constructing Dublin's deep water quays

The bell was in use from 1871 until 1958 and visiting it will give you an excellent insight into what was a wonder of engineering for its time.
