Beautiful gardens and woodlands

National Botanic Gardens

Why locals love it

Living in a city means many people have small gardens. The Botanic Gardens serve as a communal garden for the city and give inspiration to the green-fingered among us. Entering the gardens is an escape from the city as they are very peaceful. Many events and classes are run throughout the year with 'Sculpture in Context' a particular highlight.

Why you should visit it

Put simply the gardens are beautiful, there is a visitors center where you can find all the background information you need and also a lovely cafe. The beautiful glass-houses are a must see and there is also a walled kitchen garden that is well worth a look around.

Special tip

There is a small car park but it fills up quickly and isn't free!
