A place of worship since 1095 there is plenty of history to be seen here. None of the original, probably wooden, structure remains but the stone built church that stands today has elements dating back several hundred years. The surrounds have changed as the city has expanded but the site still retains a special feeling.

Here you can literally come face to face with the great and the good of Dublin's past. Remember this is a burial place so respect should be shown at all times. Also be aware that religious services still take place here and that the crypts are closed to visitors at lunch time and on Sundays.
The level of preservation is excellent so this is not one for squeamish visitors
