Trinity College
Why locals love it
Until this year it was One of the top 100 universities in the world and hopefully will gain back that title. Still very prestigious and a great building occupying prime real estate in the center of Dublin. It was of course a protestant college and not accessible by meager Catholics but that has all changed now and anyone can apply.

Why you should visit it
Founded in 1592 modeled after the collegiate universities of Oxford and of Cambridge but unlike these, only one college was ever established; as such the designations "Trinity College" and "University of Dublin" are usually synonymous for practical purposes.
Special tip
It is one of the seven ancient universities of Britain and Ireland, and Ireland's oldest university.
