Why locals love it

Dr Neil's Garden is a peaceful wee oasis next to Duddingston Loch, perfect for romantic walks and big thoughts. Entry is free and the garden is open to all (who find it). Ask a local and there is a high chance they do not know about this place unless they live in Duddingston Village or have a particular interest in secret gardens.

Why you should visit it

Visit a secret garden which is a challenge to find! Enter through the double gates of Duddingston Manse on Old Church Lane - might feel you are trespassing at this point but don't stop. Keep right and follow the path to another door which will lead you to the garden.

Special tip

Lothian Bus number 42 drops you the closest on Duddingston Road West.

Amazing garden on edge of Holyrood park at Duddingston Village. Run by volunteers. Don’t miss it

A haven of peace & tranquility in the centre of Edinburgh where I have often watched Deer jumping in and out of Duddingston Loch during the summer to cool off.
