Edinburgh Food Studio is not your ordinary neighbourhood restaurant. Ben and Sashana, both graduates of Italy's Bra University of Gastronomic Sciences established the studio with the help of crowd-funding and it has been a success story ever since. Frequent guest chefs come from all over the world so there is always something new and mouthwatering.
It is a celebration of modern Scottish cuisine: ingredients are seasonal, local, foraged wild and they put a great emphasis on sustainability. Expect common tables, relaxed, friendly atmosphere and fine dining without the price tag and the fuss. You might also bump into local food bloggers, so good table company is almost guaranteed.
There is no published menu but they do cater for special dietary requirements, just let them know in advance. Book early to avoid disappointment.
