Why locals love it

The majectic ruins of the palace are overlooking Linlithgow Loch with beautiful views over the peel. It is a great place for a walk in nature and exploring wildlife around the loch. It is also a favourite spot of locals walking their dogs and doing some jogging.

Why you should visit it

The palace is full of history being the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. No wonder Karl Lagerfeld chose it as the location of the latest Chanel fashion show. You can also wander around the towers and feel the atmosphere of this ancient site.

Special tip

The castle is mostly roofless so you might want to time your visit for a sunny day.

Birth place of Mary Queen of Scots and a very attractive Scottish Palace. The Town of Linlithgow will also be the Birthplace of 'Scotty' the chief engineer of the Star Ship Enterprise in 2222
