The Meadows

Why locals love it

The Meadows is a large public park located in the south of Edinburgh, close to university buildings. On sunny summer days the Meadows Park fills up with barbecueing students, couples enjoying romantic picnic, kids playing at the playground. For the more active locals there are tennis courts, cricket pitches and a big free space to play football.

Why you should visit it

The Meadows is a perfect place to enjoy sunshine. Visit the former site of the South Loch which has been turned into a lovely green common space, and join the sunbathing, chatting locals. Feeling more active? Scotland being the birthplace of golfing, it is the best place for you to get into this sport.
