The main building of Kotakorva is from the 1850s and the other two houses from the 1930s. At the river bank, there is the old tar grave of the villagers, and floodplains preserved for the visitors to explore.

The majority of the village is on the southern slope of Utkuvaara, but the village continues south of Lake Utkujärvi to Nulusniemi. A small dirt road turns from Torniontie (E8), which leads to the P-place. The road is about 1.5 miles long and bouncy, but at least now it was more or less in driving condition. The route is well marked. The trees have both orange and red paint marks. From time to time there were also wooden benches along the route.

Hiker's Cross

An ecumenical cross has been erected on top of Olos Hill. The Cross was blessed by Samuel Salmi, Bishop of the Diocese of Oulu on June 20, 2007, naming the Cross to the Apostle John. The place on the top of the fell is a place of silence, open to everyone to visit or give their respects.

Akamella Cemetery in Sweden

Before Akamella, the deceased were transported to Matarenki. Sámi and new builders were buried in Akamella. After the end of the Finnish War (1808–1809), a new frontier of the kingdom was formed. Akamella and his deceased remained on the Swedish side. After Muonio became its own parish in 1812, a cemetery was established next to the church.
