Why locals love it
Torassieppi village is a small lakeside agricultural village located in the strong natural landscape of Fell Lapland. The village is located on the eastern shore of the lake of the same name on both sides of the river Jerisjoki. The village of Torassiepi is a nationally valuable landscape area.
Why you should visit it
The Farms of Kotakorva, Sieppi and Koskenniemi have the most representative traditional building stock in the village. The main building of Kotakorva is from the 1850s and the other two houses from the 1930s. At the river bank, there is the old tar grave of the villagers, and floodplains preserved for the visitors to explore.
Far away from other settlements, the building stock of the village of Torassiepi was spared the ravages of war.
