Laajalahti Defense Outpost is a local outside museum. The nature area hides away a huge amount of man-made structures of defense lines, that has been made in the 1 WW. The Trenches are built to the hillside, apart of a crescent shaped outpost structure around the Helsinki Metropolitan area, this outpost is lightly scattered to the hills close-by
Why you should visit it
Man- made trenches are truly a wonder, how they were build into the hard bedrock is really amazing. Bunkers are of limits due the danger of collapse. Make sure that you take consideration of dangers before heading to the sites.
Special tip
Terrain is really rocky, good shoes are required. Be careful on the site, trenches are some places pretty deep, danger to fall is possible.
