I love visiting interesting parks and gardens while travelling, and I know that the best ones are often hidden. Are there any that are particularly special?

Nuuksio national park is nice place if you like nature, particularly the area of Kattila. Can be reached by public transport (bus 85 from the center of Espoo). Can be growded during weekend if the weather is nice so better to go in the middle of the week. And if you go a bit further from the main pathways you will reach places where you don’t see other people. Pirttimäki recreational area is an option, also reachable by bus. See: espoo.fi > Culture and sport> Outdoor). Espoo has also many nice lakes, e.g. Southern Myllyjärvi and Kaitalampi. If you prefer sea, you could take a boat to Vasikkasaari or Pentala or just stroll around along the seashore of Haukilahti.

Silkkiniitty in Tapiola is very nice, large and open park, and we have some very nice public recreational island that can be visited by public ferries. I would recommend Iso Vasikkasaari. There is also a very beautiful walk/bicycle route that covers pretty much the whole Espoo's southern coastline.
