One of Earth's Great Gravity Mysteries

The Mystery Spot

Why locals love it

I first discovered The Mystery Spot through Lorin Ashton, more commonly known as Bassnectar. He wrote a song about the enchanting place and enticed me to visit. This museum is located in the Redwood Forest in the Santa Cruz mountains, just outside a town called Felton. There is a gravitational anomaly that will blow your mind.

Why you should visit it

The gravitational anomaly allows you to lean fully forward without falling to the ground. In some areas of the museum, gravity doesn't work properly and bottles, wallets, and whatever else is light enough will float through the air.

Special tip

Make a reservation ahead of time to avoid showing up to a sold-out museum. Parking is limited and costs $5 so carpool if possible1
