Away from the tourist crowds but still in one of Florence's most charming, central streets, San Carlo is the perfect place to stop in for breakfast, lunch or an aperitivo. Their "happy hour" buffet is really generous—you'll find the usual staples, but also more elaborate foods like fried artichokes and mini lasagnas. It's available to rent, too.

"Stopping for a sandwich" can be a recipe for disaster in Italy. You wouldn't think so, but sometime's it's hard to find a quick panino that isn't horribly overpriced and totally bland. Here, you won't find just the typical prosciutto and mozzarella or ham and lettuce combinations. They really get creative with their toppings!
This is a fabulous spot for pre-dinner drinks, or a good place to stop in after visiting the Church of Ognissanti, a nearby attraction worth a stop.
