The Cascine is popular with families because it's the perfect place to take little ones out for a spin in the stroller, or for older kids to run around and play. The popular Tuesday market runs every morning until about 2pm and is a top spot for scoring steals.

Why you should visit it
There's no better place in Florence for a bike ride, so get off the busy, narrow streets—in the Cascine you can cycle (and breathe) easily without getting caught in crazy Florentine traffic. Take a book and sit on a bench, go for a leisurely stroll along one of the boulevards, or stop for a bite of street food at the stands spread around the park.
Special tip
Avoid it at night—though the Cascine has really cleaned up its act, it's still pretty seedy, especially when the sun goes down.
