This hole-in-the-wall osteria is located on a side street not far from piazza della Repubblica, and it'd be easy to miss if you weren't looking for it. From the outside, it doesn't look like anything special and they seem to only have countertop service, but once you go in there is a full seating area downstairs.
Prices are incredibly fair and honest for the area, plus the food is some of the simplest and most delicious in the neighborhood. Stay upstairs and have a sandwich, or head downstairs to dine a bit more leisurely. Go for the salty sides like roasted potatoes and pair them with a plate of porchetta and house red wine.
They tend to close a bit early, so don't stick to the Italian timetable if planning a dinner here- go early!
