This hidden little square is one of Florence's cutest central piazzas, and no matter what time of day you go, there's always something going on. Despite being practically next door to the Pitti Palace, there's hardly any tourist traffic here—it feels oddly yet pleasantly secluded from much of the surrounding area.
It's packed with inexpensive cafes, highly regarded restaurants and a host of colorful characters, The gelateria in the square sometimes doles out free cups when you least expect it! The benches and bars make the whole square a prime people-watching spot. Now and then there's live music, poetry or charity events in the square.
