This is part sit-down restaurant, part takeaway counter. The rosticceria discreetly located off to the side of the restaurant serves up generous portions of inexpensive daily specials like spaghetti alle vongole (with clams), gnocchi, truffled ravioli, vegetable soup, mezzemaniche pasta with sausage and broccoli and more—all for under 5 euro!
Stop by the rosticceria for a budget takeaway meal (expect a wait at rush hour; note that food on display is sold by weight)—then dine in piazza Santa Maria Novella before sightseeing. Or sit down and dine on fresh food in the large, neighboring restaurant (note that prices will be higher for the same food since you're getting table service.)
The rosticceria serves seafood specialties on Fridays! Go for the fried calamari and ask for a bit of lemon.
